About The Regional Institute of Ophthalmology
The Regional Institute of Ophthalmology (RIO), Sitapur, established in 1965, is a government-run eye hospital and teaching institute affiliated with King George’s Medical University (KGMU), Lucknow. It is one of the largest centers in Uttar Pradesh dedicated to ophthalmic education, advanced eye care, and research. The institute offers postgraduate programs in ophthalmology through NEET-PG admissions, along with specialized fellowship courses in cataract surgery, phacoemulsification, and medical retina, providing hands-on training to young doctors.
