Rajasthan Govt Reduces PG Medical Fees for Private Colleges 2025

The Rajasthan government has introduced a new fixed fee structure for postgraduate (PG) medical programs in all private medical colleges across the state. These revised rates will be applicable from the 2025 academic session for candidates securing seats through NEET PG counselling. This decision comes after continuous complaints from students regarding extremely high and uneven fees charged by private institutions. With the new policy, the state aims to make PG medical education more accessible and reduce the financial burden on aspirants.

New Annual Fee Structure for PG Medical Courses (2025 Onwards)

The government has approved the following uniform fee slab for all private medical colleges:

• Pre-clinical PG Courses ₹2 lakh
• Para-clinical PG Courses ₹6 lakh
• Clinical PG Courses ₹32.5 lakh

Earlier, clinical PG seats in Rajasthan often cost anywhere between ₹45 lakh to ₹1 crore+ per year, depending on the specialization and seat category. The new cap brings a significant reduction and ensures clarity for both students and parents.

Why the Fee Cut Was Introduced

• They must refund the excess fee to the student.
• A 12% annual interest will apply on the refunded amount.
• Repeated violations may result in:
• Withdrawal of affiliation
• Penalties from the Fee Regulatory Committee
• Possible reallocation of students to other institutes
• This enforcement mechanism ensures full compliance and protects students from exploitation.

Concerns Raised by Private Colleges

Some private institutions have expressed that the reduced fee structure may impact their operational costs, faculty salaries, and infrastructure expenses. Discussions between college representatives and the state government are ongoing. However, the government is firm that the revised fees are necessary to maintain fairness and accessibility in medical education.
