Alagappa University, located at Vallal Alagappar Valagam in Karaikudi, Sivaganga District of Tamil Nadu, is a state university established in 1985 by the Government of Tamil Nadu. It is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and has earned an A++ grade accreditation from NAAC (CGPA 3.59), placing it among the top-ranked universities in India. The institution is also classified as a Category-I University by UGC/MHRD, which allows it greater academic autonomy.
