Alipurduar University, located at P.O. Alipurduar Court, District Alipurduar, West Bengal, was established in 2020 by upgrading the historic Alipurduar College (founded in 1957). It is a state government university, recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC), with the Hon’ble Governor of West Bengal serving as Chancellor and Prof. Sarit Kumar Chaudhuri as Vice-Chancellor. The institution was created under the Alipurduar University Act, 2018, to expand higher education and research opportunities in the Dooars region. The university offers a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs in Arts, Science, and Commerce, along with diploma and research opportunities.
