Andhra Kesari University (AKU), located at Pernamitta, Ongole in Prakasam District, Andhra Pradesh, is a state government university established in 2022. Named in honor of Tanguturi Prakasam Pantulu, the freedom fighter popularly known as “Andhra Kesari,” the university is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and aims to expand access to higher education in the region.

Admissions Open 2026: Courses, Eligibility & Fees
Admissions at AKU are conducted for undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The university currently offers nine postgraduate programs and one undergraduate program. For example, B.P.Ed admissions are based on merit through entrance exams including written tests and fitness evaluations. Other programs follow merit-based selection or university-level entrance exams.

The university headquarters is located in Ongole, Prakasam district, with five constituent colleges and four AU campuses. Initially, the Acharya Nagarjuna University Post-Graduation Centre (established in 1993) was upgraded to form Andhra Kesari University. The campus provides facilities such as classrooms, libraries, and sports infrastructure, with plans for expansion as it is a relatively new institution.
