About
Assam Science & Technology University (ASTU), located at Tetelia Road, Jalukbari in Guwahati, Assam, is a state government university established in 2010. It is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956. ASTU was founded with the vision of promoting science, technology, and innovation in higher education, serving as the affiliating university for numerous engineering and technical colleges across Assam.
The university offers undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, and doctoral programs in Engineering, Technology, Pharmacy, Management, and Applied Sciences. As the affiliating body, ASTU conducts examinations and awards degrees for engineering and technical institutions in Assam. Its campus is equipped with modern classrooms, laboratories, a central library, computer centers, hostels, and sports facilities. ASTU emphasizes research, innovation, and industry collaboration, preparing students for careers in engineering, IT, healthcare, corporate firms, startups, and government services. Admissions Open 2026: Courses, Eligibility & Fees
Admissions at ASTU are primarily conducted through the Assam Combined Entrance Examination (CEE) and national-level tests. For B.Tech programs, students are admitted based on Assam CEE or JEE Main scores. Pharmacy and allied sciences require NEET scores, while MBA programs accept CAT, MAT, XAT, or CMAT scores. Postgraduate programs such as M.Tech, M.Sc, MCA, and M.Arch are based on entrance exams and merit, while Ph.D. admissions require entrance tests, interviews, and research proposals.
