Barkatullah University, formerly known as Bhopal University, is a state university located on Hoshangabad Road in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. Established in 1970 and renamed in 1988 in honor of the freedom fighter Prof. Barkatullah, the institution is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and accredited with a “B” grade by NAAC.
The university campus covers approximately 400 acres along the Hoshangabad highway, about 3 km from Habibganj Railway Station. It offers a comprehensive spectrum of higher education through its University Teaching Departments and affiliated colleges. Academic programs span faculties such as Arts, Social Sciences, Science, Life Sciences, Engineering, Law, Commerce, Education, Physical Education, Technology, Home Science, and Management.
