About Bihar Engineering University
Established on August 9, 2021 (through The Bihar Engineering University Act 2021, Bihar Act No. 20 of 2021, and became operational in 2022), Bihar Engineering University (BEU) is a prestigious public state university located at 6th Floor, Examination Block, Aryabhatta Knowledge University Campus, Mithapur, Patna - 800001, Bihar, founded by the Government of Bihar. With Chief Minister Nitish Kumar serving as Chancellor, BEU operates with recognition from the University Grants Commission (UGC) and approvals from the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), and National Board of Accreditation (NBA). Established to conduct and facilitate affiliation of institutions in engineering, technology, architecture, planning, and management programs, the university oversees multiple government and private affiliated colleges across Bihar including Government Engineering Colleges in Bhagalpur (BCE, established 1960), Bhojpur (Arrah), Siwan, Jamui, Madhepura, and private institutions like R.P. Sharma Institute of Technology Patna, MACET Patna, NSIT Patna, and MIT Purnea.
