Birangana Sati Sadhani Rajyik Vishwavidyalaya (BSSRUV), located in Golaghat, Assam, is a state government university established in 2021. It is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956. The university is named after Sati Sadhani, the legendary queen of the Chutia dynasty, symbolizing courage, sacrifice, and empowerment. BSSRUV was founded with the vision of promoting higher education, research, and cultural enrichment in Assam, while honoring the legacy of women leaders in history.
The university offers undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, and doctoral programs in Arts, Sciences, Commerce, Social Sciences, and allied disciplines. BSSRUV was established under the Assam Act of 2020 and is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The university offers undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, and doctoral programs in arts, humanities, social sciences, and regional studies. Admissions are primarily merit-based, with entrance exams applicable for select PG and research programs. Eligibility requires 10+2 for UG courses and relevant degrees for PG programs. The admission process includes online registration, merit list publication, counseling, and fee payment. Fees are kept affordable, averaging ₹8,000–₹15,000 per year, ensuring accessibility for students from diverse backgrounds.
