Birsa Munda Tribal University (BMTU), established in 2017, is a state public university located at the Vocational Training Centre (VTC) on Vavdi Road in Narmada district, Gujarat. Recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC), the university was set up by the Government of Gujarat with the objective of promoting higher education among tribal communities and preserving their cultural heritage. Named after the tribal freedom fighter Birsa Munda, the institution reflects his legacy of empowerment, education, and social justice. Admissions Open 2026: Courses , Eligibility & Fees

Established: 2017 by the Government of Gujarat. Programs Offered: BA, B.Com, B.Sc., MA, M.Com, M.Sc., and Ph.D. programs in arts, commerce, science, and tribal studies. Admission Process: Primarily merit-based, with entrance exams for select PG and doctoral programs. Eligibility: UG – 10+2 with minimum qualifying marks. PG – Relevant bachelor’s degree. Fees: Affordable, with UG programs averaging ₹8,000–₹15,000 per year.
