The University of Calcutta, popularly known as Calcutta University (CU), was established in 1857 at College Square, Kolkata, making it one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in India. Admissions Open 2026: Courses, Eligibility & Fees

Calcutta University offers BA, B.Sc, B.Com, BBA, BCA, LLB, MA, M.Sc, M.Com, MBA, MCA, M.Tech, and Ph.D. programs. Admissions are based on WBJEE for engineering, JECA for MCA, CUET UG/PG for general programs, CAT/MAT/CMAT for MBA, and CU’s own entrance exams for law and research programs. Eligibility requires 10+2 with 50% marks for UG programs, graduation with 50% marks for PG programs, and postgraduation with 55% marks for Ph.D.. Fees are highly affordable, with UG programs costing ₹5,000–₹10,000 annually and PG programs around ₹10,000–₹20,000 annually
