About Central Agricultural University

Central Agricultural University (CAU), Lamphelpat, Imphal West, Manipur was established on 26 January 1993 through the Central Agricultural University Act, 1992 (No. 40 of 1992) passed by the Parliament of India. It functions under the Department of Agricultural Research and Education (DARE), Government of India, and is affiliated with the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) and the University Grants Commission (UGC). The university was created to serve the entire North Eastern region, with its headquarters at Lamphelpat, Imphal, and constituent colleges spread across different states. CAU offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in disciplines such as Agriculture, Horticulture, Veterinary Sciences, Fisheries, Agricultural Engineering, and Forestry.
