The Central Institute of Fisheries Education (CIFE), established in 1961, is a deemed-to-be university under the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), located at Panch Marg, Off Yari Road, Versova, Andheri (West), Mumbai, Maharashtra. It is recognized by the UGC and accredited with NAAC ‘A’ grade.
CIFE specializes in fisheries science and aquaculture education, offering postgraduate (M.F.Sc.), doctoral (Ph.D.), and short-term training programs in disciplines such as Aquaculture, Fish Genetics, Fish Nutrition, Aquatic Environment Management, and Fisheries Economics.
