Central University of Tamil Nadu (CUTN), located at Neelakudi in Tiruvarur District, is a public central university established in 2009 by an Act of Parliament. It was created as part of the Government of India’s initiative to expand access to quality higher education across the country. The university is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and accredited by NAAC, with academic affiliations to AIU. CUTN has grown into a multidisciplinary institution with 13 schools and 28 departments, offering programs at the integrated, undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels. Its academic portfolio spans Arts, Sciences, Commerce, Management, Engineering, Law, and Library Science, among others. Admissions are conducted through the Common University Entrance Test (CUET), ensuring a transparent and merit-based process. The Neelakudi campus is rural and eco-friendly, providing a serene environment for learning and research. It is equipped with modern classrooms, laboratories, libraries, hostels, and student facilities, while also emphasizing research, innovation, and community engagement. The university currently has over 2,000 students and 160 faculty members, fostering a close-knit academic community.
