Admissions Open 2026: Courses, Eligibility & Fees

CMI was founded in 1989 by Dr. C.S. Seshadri under the SPIC Science Foundation and became a UGC-recognized university in 2006. It offers B.S. (Hons.) programs in Mathematics, Mathematics & Computer Science, and Mathematics & Physics, with an option to minor in Data Science. Postgraduate programs include M.Sc. in Mathematics, Computer Science, and Data Science, while doctoral programs are offered in Mathematics, Computer Science, and Physics. Admissions are conducted through the CMI Entrance Exam (May 2, 2026), with exemptions for students excelling in National Olympiads. For Ph.D., candidates may qualify via GATE, JEST, NBHM, or UGC-CSIR NET. Eligibility requires 10+2 for UG, graduation with strong subject background for PG, and postgraduation with 55% marks for Ph.D.. Fees are relatively low compared to private universities, with UG programs costing around ₹1.2–1.5 lakhs annually.
