Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gorakhpur University (DDUGU), Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh—informally known as Gorakhpur University—was established in 1957 as a state public university. It is recognized by the UGC and accredited with the prestigious NAAC A++ grade, placing it among the top five state universities in India. The university is named after Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya, a noted philosopher and political thinker.
