Gujarat Biotechnology University (GBU), established in 2020, is a state public university located at Udyog Bhawan, Gandhinagar, Gujarat. Recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC), it was set up by the Government of Gujarat in collaboration with the University of Edinburgh, UK, with the vision of advancing biotechnology education, research, and innovation in India. The university functions under the aegis of the Gujarat State Biotechnology Mission and is dedicated to building skilled professionals and researchers in the rapidly growing field of biotechnology.
GBU offers postgraduate and doctoral programs in specialized areas of biotechnology such as plant biotechnology, animal biotechnology, environmental biotechnology, industrial biotechnology, and medical biotechnology.
