Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU), located on Ferozepur Road in Ludhiana, Punjab, is a state university established in 2005 by the Government of Punjab. It was carved out of Punjab Agricultural University to focus exclusively on veterinary and animal sciences education, research, and extension services. The university is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and approved by the Veterinary Council of India (VCI).
GADVASU offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in Veterinary Science, Dairy Technology, Fisheries, and allied fields. Its flagship program is the Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (B.V.Sc. & A.H.), alongside M.V.Sc., Ph.D., and specialized diploma courses. Admissions to veterinary programs are conducted through national-level entrance exams like NEET-UG.
