Himachal Pradesh National Law University (HPNLU) was established in 2016 and is located at Ghandal, Sub-Tehsil Dhami, District Shimla, Himachal Pradesh – 171014. It is a state government law university, established by the Government of Himachal Pradesh as part of the National Law University system and recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The university is also approved by the Bar Council of India (BCI), ensuring nationally recognized legal education. HPNLU offers Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and Doctoral programs in law, including B.A. LL.B. (Hons.), B.B.A. LL.B. (Hons.), LL.M., and Ph.D. programs. Admissions Open 2026: Courses, Eligibility & Fees

HPNLU Shimla admits students to its flagship five-year integrated B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) program, along with LL.M. and Ph.D. courses in Law. Admissions are conducted exclusively through the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) for both UG and PG programs. Eligibility for B.A. LL.B. requires 10+2 with at least 45% marks (40% for reserved categories), while LL.M. requires an LL.B. degree. The admission process includes CLAT registration, counseling, and seat allotment. Fees are relatively affordable compared to private law schools, with the annual tuition fee for B.A. LL.B. around ₹1.5–2 lakhs, making it accessible for students across India.
