Admissions Open 2026: Courses, Eligibility & Fees

IISc offers undergraduate (B.Sc. Research), postgraduate (M.Tech, M.Des, M.Mgt, M.Sc.), and doctoral (Ph.D.) programs across multiple disciplines. Admissions to the UG program are through JEE Advanced, NEET, or KVPY (now merged with INSPIRE), while PG programs require GATE, JAM, CAT, or GRE scores depending on the specialization. Ph.D. admissions are based on entrance exams and interviews. Eligibility for UG programs requires 10+2 with PCM and at least 60% marks, while PG programs require a relevant bachelor’s degree. The admission process involves online application, entrance exam scores, shortlisting, and interviews. Fees are highly subsidized, with UG programs costing around ₹30,000–40,000 per year, and PG/Ph.D. programs even lower, reflecting IISc’s focus on research excellence over commercialization.
