Junagadh Agricultural University (JAU), established in 2004, is a premier state government agricultural university located in Junagadh - 362001, Gujarat. Founded by the Government of Gujarat through bifurcation of Gujarat Agricultural University, this specialized institution is dedicated to agricultural education, research, and extension services in the Saurashtra and South Gujarat regions. Admissions Open 2026: Courses, Eligibility & Fees

JAU began functioning in 1960 as part of Gujarat University and became an independent state agricultural university in 2004. It is approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). The university offers around 30 programs across diploma, UG, PG, and Ph.D. levels in Agriculture, Veterinary Science, Fisheries, Agri-Business, and Allied Sciences. Admissions are conducted through state-level entrance exams, ICAR AIEEA, CUET UG/PG, and merit-based selection depending on the program. Eligibility requires 10+2 with science subjects for UG courses and graduation in relevant disciplines for PG programs. Fees are affordable, with UG programs costing ₹20,000–₹40,000 per year and PG programs ranging between ₹25,000–₹60,000 per year.

JAU provides financial support through government scholarships (SC/ST/OBC, minority, EWS) and ICAR fellowships.
