Madhusudan Law University, Cuttack, was established in 2021 by upgrading the historic Madhusudan Law College (founded in 1943) into a full-fledged state university under the Odisha State Legislature. It is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and approved by the Bar Council of India (BCI). The university offers undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, and doctoral programs in law, including BA LLB (Hons.), BBA LLB, LLB, LLM, and Ph.D. in Law. Admissions are conducted through CLAT UG/PG, Odisha Common Entrance Test (O-CET), and merit-based selection depending on the program. Eligibility requires 10+2 with at least 45% marks for integrated law programs and LLB graduation for LLM programs. Fee highlights show that UG law programs cost between ₹30,000–₹50,000 per year, while PG programs range between ₹40,000–₹70,000 per year, making it one of the most affordable law universities in eastern India.
