About Mahapurusha Srimanta Sankaradeva Viswavidyalaya
Mahapurusha Srimanta Sankaradeva Viswavidyalaya (MSSV), located at the Srimanta Sankaradeva Sangha Complex, Haladhar Bhuyan Path, Kalongpar in Nagaon, Assam, is a state private university established in 2013 by the Government of Assam. It was named after the great saint, scholar, and cultural icon Srimanta Sankaradeva, who pioneered the Neo-Vaishnavite movement in Assam and contributed immensely to literature, music, dance, and social reform.
MSSV offers programs at the undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels, with a strong focus on Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences, Education, Philosophy, and Cultural Studies. It also emphasizes research in Assamese literature, Sankaradeva studies, Vaishnavite philosophy, and regional development, making it a unique institution that blends academic learning with cultural preservation.
The Nagaon campus is equipped with libraries, classrooms, research centers, and student facilities, fostering both academic excellence and cultural engagement.
