Maharaja Sriram Chandra Bhanja Deo University (MSCB University), located at Sriram Chandra Vihar in Takatpur, Baripada, Odisha, is a public state university established in 1998 as North Orissa University and renamed in 2020 to honor Maharaja Sriram Chandra Bhanja Deo, the erstwhile ruler of Mayurbhanj. The university was created to expand higher education in northern Odisha and has since grown into a significant academic hub in the region. It is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and accredited by NAAC. The university offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs across disciplines such as Arts, Science, Commerce, Education, and Social Sciences. It emphasizes both teaching and research, with special focus on biodiversity, tribal studies, Odia literature, and sustainable development.
