About
The National Institute of Advanced Manufacturing Technology (NIAMT), located near Kanchnatoli, Hatia in Ranchi, Jharkhand, is a premier government institution dedicated to technical education and research. Formerly known as the National Institute of Foundry and Forge Technology (NIFFT), it was established in 1966 under the Ministry of Education, Government of India, and is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and approved by AICTE. NIAMT is affiliated with Ranchi University and offers specialized undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, and doctoral programs in advanced manufacturing, materials engineering, mechanical engineering, production engineering, and related fields.

Admissions Open 2026: Courses, Eligibility & Fees
NIAMT Ranchi offers B.Tech programs in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical & Materials Engineering, Production & Industrial Engineering, and Computer Science & Engineering. The flagship B.Tech program has an intake of 276 seats. Admissions are conducted through JEE Main scores followed by JoSAA counselling. For postgraduate programs (M.Tech), admissions are based on GATE scores, while Ph.D. admissions require a master’s degree with entrance test and interview. The annual fee for B.Tech is around ₹70,000–₹80,000, making it affordable compared to private engineering colleges.
