The National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bengaluru, was established in 1987 by the Government of Karnataka in collaboration with the Bar Council of India. Located at Nagarbhavi, it is a public state university recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC). NLSIU is India’s first National Law University and is consistently ranked as the country’s premier institution for legal education. It offers integrated undergraduate programs like B.A. LL.B. (Hons.), postgraduate programs such as LL.M., MPP (Master of Public Policy), and doctoral programs in law and related fields. The campus is equipped with modern classrooms, moot court halls, a central library, hostels, and sports facilities. Admissions Open 2026: Courses, Eligibility & Fees

National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bengaluru was established in 1987 as India’s first National Law University. It is recognized by the UGC and approved by the Bar Council of India (BCI). NLSIU offers five‑year integrated B.A. LL.B. (Hons.), one‑year LL.M., MPP (Master of Public Policy), MBL (Master of Business Laws), and Ph.D. programs. Admissions to the flagship B.A. LL.B. program are conducted through the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT), while LL.M. admissions are based on CLAT‑PG. The MPP program has its own entrance test and interview. Eligibility requires 10+2 with at least 45% marks for UG programs, a law degree for LL.M., and postgraduation with 55% marks for doctoral programs. Fees range between ₹2–₹3 lakhs per year, depending on the program.

The NLSIU campus is located in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, spread across 23 acres with modern infrastructure. Facilities include moot court halls, smart classrooms, a central library with extensive legal resources, computer labs, hostels, sports complexes, medical services, and innovation centers.
