About
Osmania University (OU), located at Administrative Building, Osmania University Campus, Hyderabad, Telangana, is one of India’s oldest and most prestigious institutions of higher learning. It was established in 1918 by Mir Osman Ali Khan, the Seventh Nizam of Hyderabad, and is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC).
The university was founded with the vision of providing modern education while promoting regional languages and culture. It is particularly notable for being the first Indian university to adopt Urdu as a medium of instruction, reflecting the cultural heritage of Hyderabad.
