P. V. Narsimha Rao Telangana Veterinary University (PVNRTVU), headquartered at Administrative Office, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad, Telangana, is a specialized state public university dedicated to veterinary sciences and animal husbandry. It was established in 2014 by the Government of Telangana, following the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh, to strengthen veterinary education, research, and extension services in the newly formed state.
The university was named after P. V. Narasimha Rao, former Prime Minister of India, honoring his contributions to education and national development. PVNRTVU offers undergraduate (B.V.Sc. & A.H.), postgraduate (M.V.Sc.), and doctoral (Ph.D.) programs in veterinary sciences, covering disciplines such as animal nutrition, pathology, microbiology, surgery, medicine, and livestock production.
Its main campus at Rajendranagar is equipped with modern classrooms, laboratories, libraries, clinical facilities, and research centers, providing students with both academic and practical training. The university also operates constituent veterinary colleges, research stations, and extension centers across Telangana to serve rural communities and promote animal health and productivity.
