About Ponnaiyah Ramajayam Institute of Science & Technol
Ponnaiyah Ramajayam Institute of Science & Technology (PRIST), located on the Trichy–Thanjavur Road at Vallam, is a deemed-to-be university in Tamil Nadu. It was originally founded in 1985 as an educational institution and later attained university status in 2008 under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956. PRIST is managed by the Ponnaiyah Ramajayam Educational Trust, which has established several institutions across Tamil Nadu.
The university offers a wide range of programs at the undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels, covering disciplines such as Engineering, Science, Arts, Commerce, Education, Pharmacy, Agriculture, and Management. It is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and approved by AICTE, with several programs accredited by NAAC and professional councils.
The Vallam campus is spread across a large area with modern laboratories, libraries, hostels, sports facilities, and innovation centers, providing a comprehensive environment for learning and research.
