Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University (PSTU), located at Lalitakala Kshetram, Hyderabad, Telangana, is a specialized state public university dedicated to the promotion and preservation of the Telugu language, literature, culture, and arts. It was established in 1985 by the Government of Andhra Pradesh and named after Potti Sreeramulu, a freedom fighter whose sacrifice was instrumental in the formation of the Andhra State.
The university offers a wide range of undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, and doctoral programs in disciplines such as Telugu language and literature, performing arts, fine arts, folk traditions, journalism, and cultural studies. It also conducts research and extension activities aimed at safeguarding and promoting the rich heritage of Telugu culture.
The Hyderabad campus houses the School of Language Development, School of Fine Arts, and School of Social Sciences, along with specialized centers for folk culture, performing arts, and translation studies.
