Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University (PSTU), located at Lalitakala Kshetram, Hyderabad, Telangana, is a specialized state public university dedicated to the promotion and preservation of the Telugu language, literature, culture, and arts. It was established in 1985 by the Government of Andhra Pradesh and named after Potti Sreeramulu, a freedom fighter whose sacrifice was instrumental in the formation of the Andhra State. The university offers a wide range of undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, and doctoral programs in disciplines such as Telugu language and literature, performing arts, fine arts, folk traditions, journalism, and cultural studies. Popular courses include M.A. Telugu, M.A. Journalism, M.A. Performing Arts, Diploma in Folk Arts, and Ph.D. programs. Admissions are conducted through entrance tests and merit lists, with eligibility requiring 10+2 for UG programs, a bachelor’s degree for PG programs, and postgraduation with 55% marks for Ph.D. programs.
