Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University (PJTSAU), headquartered at Administrative Office, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad, Telangana, is a premier state public university dedicated to agricultural education, research, and extension services. It was established in 2014 by the Government of Telangana after the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh, inheriting the legacy of the Acharya N.G. Ranga Agricultural University.
The university was named after Professor Jayashankar, an eminent educationist and ideologue of the Telangana movement, in recognition of his contributions to the region. PJTSAU offers a wide range of undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in disciplines such as agronomy, horticulture, agricultural engineering, plant breeding, soil science, entomology, and agricultural economics.
Its main campus at Rajendranagar is equipped with modern classrooms, laboratories, libraries, research centers, and experimental farms, providing students with both theoretical knowledge and practical training. The university also operates constituent colleges, research stations, and Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) across Telangana to extend its reach and impact rural communities.
