Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Bengaluru, located in Jayanagar, was established in 1996 by the Government of Karnataka. It is a public state university recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC). RGUHS is one of India’s largest health sciences universities, overseeing and affiliating more than 600 institutions across Karnataka in disciplines such as Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Nursing, Ayurveda, Homeopathy, Unani, Naturopathy & Yoga, and Allied Health Sciences.

Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Bengaluru, was established in 1996 by the Government of Karnataka as a state public health sciences university and is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC). It is one of India’s largest health sciences universities, affiliating more than 600 medical, dental, nursing, pharmacy, and allied health colleges across Karnataka. The university offers undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, and doctoral programs in disciplines such as Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing, Pharmacy, Ayurveda, Homeopathy, Unani, and Allied Health Sciences. Admissions are conducted through NEET UG (for MBBS/BDS), NEET PG (for MD/MS), AIAPGET (for Ayurveda, Homeopathy, Unani), RUHS Nursing/Pharmacy entrance exams, and merit-based selection depending on the program. Eligibility requires 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology for medical and allied health courses and graduation in relevant disciplines for PG programs. Fees are affordable compared to private medical institutions, with MBBS programs around ₹12–15 lakh for the entire course and nursing/pharmacy programs between ₹50,000–₹1,50,000 per year.

Scholarships & Fee Concessions
RGUHS supports students through government scholarships (SC/ST/OBC, minority, EWS) and institutional merit-based concessions. Fee waivers are extended to economically weaker sections, while merit scholarships are awarded to top-performing students in NEET UG/PG, AIAPGET, and board exams. Special scholarships are also available for girls, differently-abled students, and achievers in sports or cultural activities. On average, 20–25% of students benefit from scholarships annually, making medical education more inclusive and affordable.
