About Sankalchand Patel University
Sankalchand Patel University (SPU), located at Sankalchand Patel Vidyadham on the Ambaji–Gandhinagar State Highway in Visnagar, Mehsana District, Gujarat, is a private university established in 2016 under the Gujarat Private Universities Act. It was founded by the Nootan Sarva Vidyalaya Kelavani Mandal (NSVKM), a charitable trust inspired by Shri Sankalchand Patel, a freedom fighter and social activist. The university has quickly grown into one of the leading institutions in North Gujarat, recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and accredited by NAAC.
SPU offers a wide range of undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs across disciplines including Engineering, Pharmacy, Medicine, Nursing, Management, Commerce, Science, and Humanities. It is particularly well known for its medical and healthcare education, with Nootan General Hospital serving as a teaching hospital. The university also emphasizes innovation and research, hosting centers of excellence such as the Centre of Excellence in Electric Vehicle Technology.
The Visnagar campus is equipped with modern infrastructure including laboratories, libraries, hostels, sports facilities, and hospitals. SPU has achieved notable recognition, such as a Guinness World Record for the Largest Dental Health Check, and has received 4 Stars in the Gujarat State Institutional Rating Framework (GSIRF) for 2023–24. It has also signed multiple national and international MoUs to strengthen academic collaboration.
