Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology (SIST), located at Jeppiaar Nagar on Rajiv Gandhi Salai (OMR), Chennai, with an off-campus center at Vadamangalam, Sriperumbudur, is a private deemed-to-be university established in 1987. Originally founded as Sathyabama Engineering College by Dr. Jeppiaar, it was granted university status in 2001 under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956.
