About Shaheed Bhagat Singh State University
Shaheed Bhagat Singh State University (SBS State University), located on Moga Road in Firozpur, Punjab, is a state technical university established in 2021 by the Government of Punjab. It was named in honor of the great freedom fighter Shaheed Bhagat Singh, with the vision of expanding access to technical and professional education in the Malwa region. The university is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and approved by AICTE.
The institution offers diploma, undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in disciplines such as Engineering, Computer Applications, Management, Sciences, and Humanities. It also serves as an affiliating university for technical and professional colleges in the region, thereby strengthening higher education infrastructure in southern Punjab. Admissions are conducted through national-level entrance exams like JEE Main and GATE for engineering programs, along with merit-based selection for other courses.
The Firozpur campus is equipped with modern infrastructure including laboratories, libraries, hostels, and sports complexes.
