About Shree Sankaracharaya University of Sanskrit
Shree Sankaracharaya University of Sanskrit (SSUS), located at Kalady, Ernakulam District, Kerala, was established in 1993 by the Government of Kerala. It is a public state university recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC). Named after Adi Shankaracharya, the great philosopher and spiritual leader, the university was founded to promote Sanskrit learning, Indian philosophy, and cultural studies while also offering modern academic programs.
The university offers undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, and doctoral programs in Sanskrit, Indian Philosophy, Vedic Studies, Fine Arts, Music, Dance, Painting, and other allied disciplines. The Kalady campus is equipped with classrooms, libraries, hostels, and cultural centers, providing a unique blend of traditional and modern learning environments.
