About Sikkim Professional University
Sikkim Professional University (SPU), formerly known as Vinayaka Missions Sikkim University, is a private university located along NH 31-A at Tadong, Gangtok in East Sikkim. It was restructured and re-established under the Sikkim Professional University Act, 2022, passed by the Sikkim Legislative Assembly, and is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956.
SPU was founded with the vision of delivering career-oriented, skill-driven, and globally relevant education, blending academic excellence with professional training. The university offers a wide range of programs including undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, and doctoral courses across disciplines such as Engineering, Management, Commerce, Law, Humanities, Social Sciences, Health Sciences, and Applied Sciences.
