Purnea University, established in 2018 by the Government of Bihar, is a state public university recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC). It serves as an academic hub for the Seemanchal region, offering affordable higher education across arts, sciences, commerce, law, and vocational studies. The university provides undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, and doctoral programs, with popular courses including B.A., B.Sc., B.Com, M.A., M.Sc., M.Com, LL.B., and Ph.D. programs. Admissions are conducted through CUET, state-level entrance exams, and merit lists. Eligibility criteria require 10+2 for UG programs, graduation for PG programs, and postgraduation with at least 55% marks for Ph.D. programs.
