About
Sri Konda Laxman Telangana State Horticultural University (SKLTSHU), located at Mulugu, Siddipet District, Hyderabad, Telangana, was established in 2014 by the Government of Telangana. It is a state public university recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and dedicated exclusively to horticultural education and research. The university was named after Sri Konda Laxman Bapuji, a veteran freedom fighter and social activist who played a significant role in the Telangana movement.
The university was founded with the mission of advancing horticultural sciences, research, and extension services, thereby supporting the agricultural economy of Telangana. It offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in horticulture and allied fields, focusing on areas such as fruit science, vegetable science, floriculture, plantation crops, and post-harvest technology.
The SKLTSHU campus at Mulugu is equipped with modern classrooms, laboratories, research farms, libraries, and student hostels, providing a comprehensive environment for academic and practical training. Sri Konda Laxman Telangana State Horticultural University, headquartered in Mojerla, Siddipet district, was established in 2014 by the Government of Telangana and is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). It is a state agricultural university dedicated exclusively to horticultural education, research, and extension. The university offers undergraduate (B.Sc. Horticulture), postgraduate (M.Sc. Horticulture), and doctoral (Ph.D.) programs. Admissions are conducted through the Telangana State EAMCET (Engineering, Agriculture & Medical Common Entrance Test) for UG programs, while PG and Ph.D. admissions are based on ICAR AIEEA and university entrance tests. Eligibility requires 10+2 with PCB/PCM/Agri for UG programs, graduation in horticulture/agriculture for PG programs, and postgraduation with 55% marks for Ph.D. programs. Fees are affordable, with UG programs averaging ₹40,000–₹60,000 annually and PG programs around ₹50,000–₹70,000 annually.
