About Swarnim Gujarat Sports University
Swarnim Gujarat Sports University, located at the Commerce College Campus opposite the Youth Hostel in Sector 15, Gandhinagar, with an additional presence at the PTC Building Campus, is a state university established in 2011 by the Government of Gujarat. It is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and is dedicated exclusively to sports education, training, and research. The university was founded to promote excellence in sports sciences and to nurture athletes, coaches, and sports professionals in India.
The university offers undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, and doctoral programs in disciplines such as Physical Education, Sports Coaching, Exercise Physiology, Sports Psychology, Sports Management, and Adventure Sports. Flagship programs include B.P.Ed., M.P.Ed., M.Sc. in Sports Coaching, and Ph.D. in sports sciences. Admissions are merit-based, with entrance tests conducted for professional courses.
