The Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law (RGNUL), located at Sidhuwal on Bhadson Road in Patiala, Punjab, is one of India’s premier National Law Universities. It was established in 2006 under the Punjab Act No. 12 of 2006 by the Punjab Legislative Assembly as a specialized institution dedicated to legal education. The university is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC), approved by the Bar Council of India (BCI), and accredited with an A grade by NAAC, reflecting its strong academic standards.
RGNUL offers integrated five-year law programs such as B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) and B.B.A. LL.B. (Hons.), along with postgraduate programs like LL.M. and doctoral research opportunities in law and allied fields. Admissions are conducted through the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT), which is the national-level entrance exam for NLUs across India.
