The West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences (WBNUJS), established in 1999 under the WBNUJS Act, is a premier National Law University located at Aranya Bhavan, Salt Lake City, Kolkata. Founded by noted jurist Prof. N. R. Madhava Menon, it is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC), permanently affiliated with the Bar Council of India (BCI), and accredited by NAAC. Admissions Open 2026: Courses, Eligibility & Fees

The West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences (WBNUJS), Kolkata, was established in 1999 under the WBNUJS Act, 1999, and is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the Bar Council of India (BCI). It is one of India’s premier National Law Universities (NLUs), consistently ranked among the top law schools in the country. The university offers integrated undergraduate law programs (BA LLB Hons.), postgraduate programs (LLM), and doctoral research opportunities (Ph.D.). Admissions are conducted through the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) for UG and PG programs, while doctoral admissions are based on entrance exams, research proposals, and interviews. Eligibility requires 10+2 for UG programs and LLB or equivalent for PG programs. Fees are structured competitively, with UG programs ranging between ₹1,50,000–₹2,00,000 per year and PG programs between ₹1,00,000–₹1,50,000 per year, making quality legal education accessible to students nationwide.
