About Thiruvalluvar University
Thiruvalluvar University, located at Serkkadu in Vellore District, Tamil Nadu, is a state public university established in 2002 under the Thiruvalluvar University Act, 2002 (Tamil Nadu Act 32 of 2002). Named after the celebrated Tamil poet and philosopher Thiruvalluvar, the university was initially a postgraduate extension center of the University of Madras before becoming an independent institution.
The university offers programs at the undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels across disciplines such as Arts, Science, Commerce, and Management, with a strong emphasis on research and innovation. It affiliates numerous colleges in the Vellore region, ensuring quality higher education across the district.
The Serkkadu campus spans 112 acres, providing facilities such as modern classrooms, laboratories, libraries, and student support services.
