About
The University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad (UAS Dharwad), located in Dharwad, Karnataka, was established in 1986 by the Government of Karnataka. It is a public state university recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC). UAS Dharwad was founded to strengthen agricultural education, research, and extension services in northern Karnataka, and has since become one of the leading agricultural universities in India.
The university offers undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, and doctoral programs in Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Agribusiness, Agricultural Engineering, and allied sciences. The campus is equipped with classrooms, laboratories, libraries, hostels, experimental farms, and specialized research centers. Admissions Open 2026: Courses, Eligibility & Fees
The University of Agricultural Sciences (UAS), Mandya, was established in 2013 after being carved out of UAS Bengaluru to cater specifically to the agricultural needs of the southern districts of Karnataka. It is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and approved by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). The university offers undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, and doctoral programs in disciplines such as Agriculture, Horticulture, Sericulture, Agricultural Engineering, Food Technology, and Forestry. Admissions to UG programs are conducted through the Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET), while PG and Ph.D. admissions are based on university entrance exams and merit lists. Eligibility requires 10+2 with PCB/PCM for UG programs, graduation in agriculture or allied sciences for PG programs, and a master’s degree for doctoral studies. Fees are affordable, with UG programs costing around ₹20,000–₹40,000 per year and PG programs between ₹30,000–₹60,000 per year, making agricultural education accessible to rural and urban students alike.
