U.P. Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Pashu Chikitsa Vigyan Vishwavidyalaya Evam Go-Anusandhan Sansthan (DUVASU), Mathura (Uttar Pradesh) is a specialized state veterinary university established on 25 October 2001 under U.P. Act No. 27 of 2001. Located at the College of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry, Mathura, it is the first of its kind in Uttar Pradesh and the fourth in India. The institution is recognized by the UGC and affiliated with ICAR, making it a premier center for veterinary education and cattle research in the country.
The university offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in Veterinary Science, Animal Husbandry, Dairy Technology, Biotechnology, and Fisheries Science. Its flagship program is the B.V.Sc. & A.H. (Bachelor of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry), alongside specialized M.V.Sc. and Ph.D. programs. Admissions are conducted through national-level entrance exams such as NEET UG/PG and ICAR AIEEA.
Spread across 2,100 acres (Main Campus & Madhuri Khund Campus), DUVASU is equipped with teaching veterinary hospitals, dairy farms, laboratories, and research centers. The university emphasizes livestock health, dairy production, and rural development, serving the Brij region, which is historically renowned for its cattle wealth and dairy products.
