Uttarakhand State Sports University: Admissions 2026, Courses, Fees & Placements

Uttarakhand State Sports University, Haldwani (Uttarakhand) is the state’s first dedicated sports university, announced by the Government of Uttarakhand to strengthen sports education and athlete training. The institution is being developed at Gaulapar, Haldwani, with its initial operations set to begin from the 2025–26 academic session. In the first phase, the university will function from the Indira Gandhi International Sports Stadium, offering programs such as B.P.Ed. and certificate courses in sports sciences and coaching. The university is envisioned as a hub for sports education, research, and athlete development, complementing the state’s broader initiative of establishing 23 sports academies across Uttarakhand. It will provide modern infrastructure including training grounds, stadiums, hostels, and laboratories for sports science and medicine. With a mission to nurture talent and prepare athletes for national and international competitions, Uttarakhand State Sports University will also support students through scholarship schemes and career opportunities in sports, fitness, and allied industries.This initiative reflects the state’s vision to position Uttarakhand as a sports powerhouse, integrating academic excellence with professional training, and contributing to India’s sporting future.
