VELS Institute of Science, Technology & Advanced Studies (VISTAS), located at Velan Nagar, Pallavaram in Chennai, with an off-campus center at Avanipoor, Tindivanam, is a private deemed-to-be university established in 1992 and granted university status in 2008 under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956. It was founded by Dr. Ishari K. Ganesh, who envisioned creating a multidisciplinary institution that blends academic excellence with industry relevance.
VISTAS offers programs at the undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels across diverse fields such as Engineering, Science, Arts, Commerce, Law, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, Management, and Maritime Studies. The institution is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC), approved by AICTE, PCI, BCI, and other statutory bodies, and accredited by NAAC with an A grade.
