About Vesveswaraiah Technological University

Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), located at Jnana Sangama, Belagavi (Belgaum), Karnataka, was established in 1998 by the Government of Karnataka. It is a public state university recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and named after Sir M. Visvesvaraya, India’s eminent engineer and statesman. VTU is one of the largest technological universities in India, affiliating more than 200 engineering colleges across Karnataka.
