Vikram University, located in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, is a public university established on 1 March 1957. It was named after the legendary ruler Vikramaditya and has long been a prominent center of higher education in the region. Recently, the Government of Madhya Pradesh officially rechristened it as Samrat Vikramaditya University in honor of the emperor, with the announcement made during its 29th convocation in March 2025. The university offers a wide range of undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, and doctoral programs across disciplines such as Arts, Science, Commerce, Law, Education, and Technology. It is affiliated with the University Grants Commission (UGC), AICTE, and has been evaluated by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), receiving a B++ grade. Over the years, Vikram University has built strong academic collaborations, including a notable MoU with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) for specialized courses in Computer Science. The Ujjain campus is urban and well-equipped with classrooms, laboratories, libraries, hostels, and cultural centers.
