The Vinoba Bhave University (VBU), Hazaribagh, was established in 1992 by the Government of Bihar (now Jharkhand) and is named after the social reformer Acharya Vinoba Bhave. It is a public state university, recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and accredited by NAAC. VBU offers undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, and doctoral programs in disciplines such as Arts, Science, Commerce, Law, Medicine, and Management. Admissions are conducted through CUET UG/PG, NEET (for medical programs), JEE Main (for engineering programs), and merit-based selection depending on the course. Eligibility requires 10+2 for UG programs, graduation in relevant fields for PG programs, and a master’s degree for doctoral studies. Fees are affordable compared to private universities, with UG programs costing around ₹8,000–₹15,000 per year and PG programs between ₹12,000–₹25,000 per year, making higher education accessible to students across Jharkhand.
